Delaware Teen Science Café

October 7 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

At the first Teen Science Café of the school year, get a sneak peek at the following weekend’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival, and hear from scientists on the same theme. Hang out with other teens, enjoy free pizza and hands-on activities.

Featured films include:

An Alaskan Fight

Sometimes conservation can feel like an ultramarathon. In this short biopic, runner and wild fish advocate Sam Snyder fights for Bristol Bay, Alaska over the course of a decade and learns the meaning of home and place in the process.

Hidden Wild

Join science educator Alex Freeze as she takes three South Florida students on an expedition to discover the wilderness hidden in their own backyards.

Featured scientists include:

  • Emily Geest, a post-doctoral fellow ecologist who studies monarchs and other pollinators and how they interact with their habitat.
  • Kaitie Evers from the Delaware Estuary will share an enviroscape model about point source pollution and watersheds.
  • Anneke van Rossum, the advocacy and policy coordinator at the Delaware Riverkeeper Network.

For grades 7-12 only. Free admission, pre-registration required.
