Bring the Heat: The Sizzling Science of Thermal Analysis, hosted by the Delaware Teen Science Café
March 18 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
From cell phones and shoes to alternative forms of energy, explore methods used by scientists, designers, and engineers to understand how materials in everyday items transfer heat, change with heat, and perform under heat. This event will be nothing short of sizzling.
Join us as Kadine Mohomed, Ph.D., a materials scientist at WL Gore, takes us on an interactive evening of demonstrations, engaging conversations, and activities exploring thermal analysis – how materials respond to a change in temperature, stress, and atmosphere. Discover how this are of science affects many of the products we use every day.
Kadine’s career passion is chemistry, and she places a strong emphasis on curiosity and fun.
She graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology and earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Material Science from the University of South Florida.
The evening includes free pizza, a chance to meet other teens, and a place to get curious about real world science from real world science professionals.
Registration is a two-part process. Please fill out the registration form, then the information form. Your registration will not be finalized until both forms are completed.
