Exploring Extinction Discovery Tour

Overview

Travel back in time at the Delaware Museum of Nature and Science. Students will explore dinosaurs, fossils, and especially extinction through hands-on activities as well as inquiry-based learning. One of our stations even includes meeting some live dinosaurs!

How It’s Made Mobile Museum

Overview

Examine how wood is grown (trees), how we use some natural resources, and how we combine many resources to use things that we use every day.

Possible Activities (at the educators discretion)

  • Investigate some everyday items from natural resources
  • Key needs of plants and trees
  • Make a tree cookie & play a game
  • Discuss Spotted Lantern Flies
  • Puzzle using deductive reasoning to figure out what natural resources are in other everyday items

  • Intended Grade Level: 1-2
  • Price: $150 for one program; $140 for two programs; $125 for three or more programs.
    For destinations more than 25 miles away from the museum one-way, an additional cost will be incurred.
