There is a museum for pretty much any subject you may be interested in, and how great is it to immerse yourself in a building chock full of content that interests you? Even better, most of these places are staffed by wonderful, brilliant, engaging museum workers who are usually just as nerdy about the subject matter as you are. I love museums, but I love museum workers even more. Fascinated by sharks? Join us Saturday, December 2 at 10:30 or 11:30 a.m. for a reading and book signing by author Ret Talbot, author of Chasing Shadows: My Life Tracking the Great White Shark. Copies of Chasing Shadows are available for purchase from the Museum Store.

Ret Talbot is an award-winning independent journalist and writer who covers ocean issues and animals at the intersection of science and sustainability. Chasing Shadows, written with shark biologist Greg Skomal, is a conservation success story about restoring an apex predator to an ecosystem through the eyes of the scientist who quite unexpectedly found himself in the middle of it all.
